I am humbled and honored to share that I have officially been elected as Division No. 2 Director of the Maricopa Water District (MWD).
The official canvass declared:
Total votes cast: 113.67 acres
Votes for Lacey James: 71.61 acres
Result: Lacey James elected Division No. 2 Director
This victory is not mine alone — it belongs to all of you who made the effort to participate in this unique election process.

A huge thank you to my husband, Keith James! Here we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of MWD!
💧 A True Community Effort
Voting in this election was no small task. To cast a ballot, neighbors had to:
Drive nearly 40 minutes round‑trip to the MWD office
Sign affidavits to verify eligibility
Bring every name on the property deed if multiple owners were listed
And because voting was based on acreage, the numbers tell a powerful story. Most of my neighbors own just 1–3 acres. That means the total of 113.67 acres represented in this election wasn’t the work of a few large landowners — it was the result of dozens of individual families and neighbors making the trip, standing together, and ensuring their voices were heard.
Your turnout proves the strength of our community. Every acre mattered, and every vote counted.

I also want to express my gratitude to my kids for staying by my side throughout the entire time!
🙏 My Gratitude
I want to sincerely thank each neighbor who took time out of their busy lives to participate. You showed that when we come together, we can overcome obstacles and make sure our community is represented fairly.
This election was about more than numbers — it was about people. And our people showed up.
🌱 Looking Ahead
I will officially begin serving as your Division No. 2 Director in January 2026. As I step into this role, I will:
Represent our neighborhood with integrity and transparency
Advocate for responsible water management
Keep communication open so your voices continue to guide our decisions
Together, we will ensure that our water district reflects the values and needs of the people it serves.
Thank you again for your trust, your time, and your votes. I am proud to serve you.
